Alex Verus #11, Forged, is out in its German edition as of last week. The Alex Verus books have been translated into quite a few languages by this point, but it’s been the German translation that’s been the most successful, and this year the last book is due to be translated and released. It’ll be the first time one of my series has been fully translated, which is a small (but nice) milestone for me.
Book #12 ought to be coming out in about six months or so, after which my German publisher is going to get to work on translating and then releasing An Inheritance of Magic too!
It’s good to hear about the German Verus editions and means that overall sales must be doing well abroad as well as in the English Speaking world. I’m assuming that An Inheritance of Magic sales are continuing to be strong and that book 3 is moving towards a second chapter completed?
Don’t have good data on Inheritance sales as yet – I’ll have to wait until April or so. But things look good for now. Book 3’s doing well, on chapter 3 at the moment.
It may be just me but Hobbs seems to have to developed, during AIoM, into quite a relatively intelligent feline, compared to mine. Do you have particularly intelligent cats at home or could this be a new aspect of his Sigl?
The sigl doesn’t boost his intelligence, no. But he does have a better-than-usual ability to communicate with Stephen, which makes a difference.
Great reviews on the German edition! The cover is a trifle creepy though, lol. I was re listening to An Inheritance of Magic today – I’ve cried over poor Hobbes like 6 times now, dagnabit!
German fan here… I’m so grateful to have stumbled across your work! Lol I got the audiobook as soon as it came out and just 2 days later (or maybe just 1?) I was internally screaming because of the banger of a cliffhanger and now having to wait again for the grand finale! I can’t wait! Thank you so much for the fantastic entertainment!
