Happy New Year!

Well, it’s finally the end of 2021.  It’s been a big year for my writing – finished the Alex Verus series at the beginning of the year, saw Risen published (and the series completed) at the end, wrote and self-published my first ever novella.  And in between those things, I started and (mostly) finished the first book in what I still intend to be my main series for the 2020s.

I’ve got various plans for 2022, but I’ll go into those more next Friday – the first post of January will be a ‘state of the author’ update where I’ll tell you guys what I’ve got planned for the first couple of months of 2022.  Until then, have a happy New Year’s, and hope the end of the year goes well for you all, too!

Having read all of Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files and all of Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles I was desperately searching for someone (anyone) in the same genre.
    Then I found YOU.
Thank you Ben Jacka for Alex Verus. You are not only in the same league as Butcher and Hearne but you have strengthened and deepened the form, style, and subject matter.
I, for one, look forward to your next adventure.
Happy New Year and Thank You for Alex.

    Happy New Year, Mr. Jacka!
Risen was the highlight of the year for me and an exquiite pleasure to read.
For me personally, you have surpassed Jim Butcher. Or maybe, I like your stuff better because it’s more mature, more believable, more psychologically deep, and has less fan service.
I eagerly await for the first taste of your new series!

Happy New Year!!! Due to the Wheel of Time show, I had jumped face-first into rereading all of them, but I’m on book 5 and I can’t resist – I’m pausing my reread to finish the Verus series because I JUST CAN’T QUIT YOU!!!!

p.s. my offer of website help STILL stands! let me know!
