First draft of Book #4 is done! I’m still busy editing it, but I should be sending it off to my publishers next week.
Next week will also be my Reddit AMA, on Thursday 13th. I’ll start at noon or so GMT, as usual. For those of you who are new to this, here are the links for the last couple of AMAs I did for the Inheritance of Magic series:
AMA for An Inheritance of Magic (2023)
AMA for An Instruction in Shadow (2024)
AMA stands for “Ask Me Anything”, and it’s just a question-and-answer session. I usually time these for about 1-2 weeks after a book’s release, the idea being that the more enthusiastic readers will have time to read the book so that they can ask me questions on it.
I’ll put up a post once the AMA goes lives, and then answer questions for 24 hours or so. Hope to see some of you then!
Glad book 4 has hit the next step.
Really enjoyed book 3. I hope people see why I distrust Stephen’s father.
Will have to do a re-listen sometime late next year. Given the delays, sounds like book 4 is a Spring 2027 release.
Great news on Book#4, I hope that you can get it out in the post and then grab some relaxation!
I’m rationing myself but enjoying A Judgement of Powers, it looks like the world isn’t exactly the way I thought it was… An excellent story and Will’s narration style is superb!
I am hoping that Jim is wrong and that they can pull back release schedule and get Book #4 out in Oct/Nov next year. Gosh that does make it sound a long way in the future!
Loved it, thank you for another great story. I re-read the first 2 books to get me back up to speed, then thoroughly enjoyed this one.
I am disappointed that a certain email address hadn’t been registered at various major email providers .. So I took the liberty of one of them 😀
(all yours if you want it)
I’m so happy to hear the next book has hit its next step. Amazon recomended your books out of the blue to me and I went through the first three of the series in 5 days. Can’t way to read the next.
Best urban fantasy series of late . Great narrator ( very important) as you can have a great book that is overlooked as the narration doesn’t fit.I love the practical advice given ( Dad , Charles ,Byron…) as it fits the current world reality. ( it’s cold , Get stronger). This dropped week of my birthday of a bad year ,so this was a bright spot. I’m here for the duration of this series it’s something special. Thanks Mr Jacka. I hate the long wait for the next one.
Love the new book! Got a huge payoff of plot points, I couldn’t sleep taking it all in. Last two chapters were bangers!
1. Pity the pigeon. : (
2. Dimension sigl in our young protagonist’s future?
*** the narrator is a joy to listen to, one thing he changes the pronunciation of Johanna’s last name… sometimes Moi Sul…sometimes Mu sul. ; )
I liked the narrator a lot too. He does tend to whisper when reading Stephen’s thoughts versus Stephen’s words. I get he is aiming to let the reader distinguish between his thoughts and his words, but maybe he could do that with a different tone of voice next book, inatead of by lowering his volume. With the narration at a normal volume, the thoughts are virtually inaudible to me.
Just finished three, already looking forward to it. Thank you for the stories!
I read the book first then listened to it on audio & I thought it was phenomenal!
Will Watt’s narration is so, so good! The way he did the big fight at the end still had me on the edge of my seat even though I knew how it was going to turn out!
I also loved that the letter from the appendix was included in the audio. A wonderful bonus.
Thank you so much for the great story: it was such a great listen!
