First three chapters of Book #5 in the Inheritance of Magic series are done. This is much faster than usual for me (I only sent off the manuscript for book #4 three months ago), so I’m quite happy!
No other news except that I’ve got a new computer, which means I’ve had to update my word processing software for the first time in several years.
Yay! Hopefully your editors get back to you on book 4 soon as well.
I’m slowly moving to a new computer. I needed one to deal with audio for Null Witch. I didn’t want to lose files between me and the narrator or get them mixed up. All our new machines are Linux based so that also means trying to find new graphic software. I started playing with the new graphics software. Yeesh. Learning curve!!! You already know: Keep everything backed up…
That is truly excellent news! I am so pleased that Book#5 is moving forward so fast. Can we expect that you’re now on track to meet the annual release schedule or maybe even faster?
I hope that the new computer works out well, I tend to find that a new PC/software hits my productivity in the short term – so good luck with the move!
Sorry – My brain running rather slow in the winter months: BUT I think that your books come out annually and contain about 30 chapters. That means 2.5 chapters a month (and that doesn’t allow for a time spent in edits) – so in the three months since Book#4 went to the publishers shouldn’t you have written 2.5 * 3 = 7.5 chapters? (Maybe a bit less to allow for some family time at Christmas)
I am super excited! I absolutely adore the audio books for both Alex Verus and this series. You are one of my favorite authors! Your talent is literally magic!
